Prescriptions

Some nicotine products are prescription-only in Australia. Where a product requires one, you must have a valid Australian prescription before we can dispatch it.

Which products need a prescription?

Any product we list as prescription required — typically therapeutic nicotine products such as nicotine pouches or lozenges sold for quit-smoking support — can only be supplied against a current prescription from an Australian registered medical practitioner (or an authorised nurse practitioner). Where a product is listed without that flag, no prescription is needed. If you’re unsure about a listing, ask us before ordering.

How to supply your prescription

  1. Place your order as normal.
  2. Reply to your order confirmation — or email support@smokemartaustralia.com with your order number — and attach a photo or PDF of your prescription.
  3. We check it covers the product, the strength and the quantity ordered.
  4. Once it’s verified, your order is dispatched and your prescription is held on file for the life of the order (and kept securely for record-keeping; see our Privacy Policy).

If we can’t verify it

If the prescription is expired, unreadable or doesn’t cover what you ordered, we’ll email you. If we can’t resolve it within 5 business days, the order is cancelled and refunded in full.

Things to know

  • Prescriptions must be current at the time of dispatch; repeats are fine if they are still valid.
  • We can’t dispense more than the prescription allows.
  • Prescription products are non-returnable once dispatched, except where they arrive faulty or damaged.
  • This material is general information, not medical advice — for help quitting, speak to your doctor or pharmacist, or call Quitline on 13 7848.
