TS cigarettes in Australia: budget super-slims and how to buy them

Smoke Mart Australia graphic: TS cigarettes explained

TS is one of the budget super-slim names sold in Australia — the kind of product bought for a light, thin-format smoke at the lower end of the price range rather than for a premium blend.

Check What to expect
Format Super-slim / thinner diameter sticks
Draw Lighter and tighter than a standard-format cigarette
Burn Usually a little quicker, because there is less tobacco
Packs Sealed packs of 20 or more only — single sticks are illegal everywhere in Australia

What “super slim” actually changes

Format changes the feel of the smoke — diameter, draw, burn rate — not how harmful the product is. If you like the lighter draw, that is the honest reason to choose a super-slim; there is no health argument for it.

Pack size law

Single cigarettes cannot be sold anywhere in Australia, and South Australia additionally prohibits packs designed to contain fewer than 20. If a listing offers loose sticks or a 10-pack, the seller is not compliant.

Price reality check

Every stick carries $1.55274 in duty. A super-slim still carries the same duty per stick as a king size, so a suspiciously cheap carton is a signal about duty, not about slimmer cigarettes costing less to make.

Before you order — four checks that never change

  1. Price against the excise floor. Duty is $1.55274 a stick from 1 September 2026 — about $31 in a 20-pack and $310 in a carton. Super-slim format is no protection from the duty floor — if the carton price does not add up, walk away.
  2. The pack in the photo. Legal Australian stock is drab brown (Pantone 448C) with graphic warnings covering at least 75% of the front and 90% of the back — no logos, no brand artwork.
  3. Age and delivery. Distance sellers must verify you are 18 or over, and somebody who can sign and show ID has to be at the address. Lockers and unstaffed addresses can be refused.
  4. State rules. South Australia prohibits mail and online tobacco orders outright; everywhere else requires an age-verification system.
