Best full-flavour cigarettes in Australia: how to compare the fuller blends

Full-flavour cigarettes are the traditional benchmark of a brand’s range — the fullest, most tobacco-forward blend in the line-up. What differs between brands is blend character and finish, not the tax: every stick carries $1.55274.
| Check | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Variable | Effect on the smoke |
| Blend tier | Fuller or smoother tobacco character |
| Format | Draw, burn rate and heat |
| Filter | Cooling and some particulate capture |
| Price | Duty-dominated; small brand spread |
Format changes more than brand
A full-flavour king size and a full-flavour slim from the same brand smoke differently because of the format, not the blend. That is why switching format often feels like switching brand.
Building a comparison that means something
Fix the format, fix the number, then compare blends across brands over a couple of weeks. Any list that ranks full-flavour brands “best” without those controls is describing someone else’s taste.
Before you order — four checks that never change
- Price against the excise floor. Duty is $1.55274 a stick from 1 September 2026 — about $31 in a 20-pack and $310 in a carton. At the fuller end of the shelf, format is the biggest variable — not the name on the pack.
- The pack in the photo. Legal Australian stock is drab brown (Pantone 448C) with graphic warnings covering at least 75% of the front and 90% of the back — no logos, no brand artwork.
- Age and delivery. Distance sellers must verify you are 18 or over, and somebody who can sign and show ID has to be at the address. Lockers and unstaffed addresses can be refused.
- State rules. South Australia prohibits mail and online tobacco orders outright; everywhere else requires an age-verification system.
